In ancient times Quests helped us journey towards a higher goal, but for most of us modern life has overrun our sense of purpose causing us to settle for less than we are capable of. As depression rates spiral around the world[1], the timing has become critical to find a way to blend the newest discoveries of science with ancient practices to unlock the potential of humanity and unleash each individual to live their Best Life. Your Goal
With most people spending less than 30 minutes a day doing what they love[2], there are many moments of your life to be conquered for more joy, love, courage and contentment to abound. To succeed you will need to create more Moments of Maintenance (like exercise) that boost well-being and Moments of Momentum (like trying new things) that propel you forward. And you will need to learn to navigate through Moments of Madness (like spending money you don't have) that inspire bad choices and Moments of Mayhem (like a relationship breakdown) that disrupt the rhythm of life. To reach your goal of living your Best Life you'll learn how to mindfully shape the highs, lows and plateaus that your journey presents[3].


Your Tools
To help you venture forth you'll be given a set of Super Strengths to empower you, a Vision Map to guide you and a band of Trusted Allies to urge you on. It is essential that you collect these tools before you set out or you'll find your Quests impossible to complete. Your Quests
A series of increasingly challenging Happiness Quests will then await you, each of them chosen because they contain proven magic ingredients that will improve your life. The levels are listed from easiest (Red) to hardest (Yellow). You may start at whichever level appeals to you the most today. But don't let ego be your master. Be honest about your journey and what will serve you best and never be too proud to take a step back if required.

Most Quests will take you no more than 11 minutes to complete, so they are manageable within even the busiest of lives. Choose wisely and ensure your Quests are aligned, with what you're willing to change and what you want to maintain or your motivation will leave you lagging behind[4].

The wisest travelers create a journal to store their discoveries. You may complete your Quest alone or create an alliance with others to journey together.

Your Rewards
Victory comes in many forms. As each Quest is completed your efforts will be logged and awarded Silver Stars that will light the paths of future possibilities.

But the bravest among you will demand more. You will want proof that your individual Quests are truly moving you towards your Best Life. And for your courage the highly sought after Gold Stars will be yours and once earnt these can be traded for your heart's deepest desires.

Your Secret Guidance
Not all who seek their Best Life make it through to the other side. Beware of the Beast of Hedonic Adaptation which can suck the novelty from most of your magic ingredients rendering them futile. It feeds on rising aspirations (always wanting more magic than you have) and social comparisons (wanting someone else's magic instead)[5]. And stay alert for the Seeping Mist of Mindlessness which causes you to drowsily react rather than purposefully respond to life[2].

If you've recently been bitten by the Black Dog of depression then Best Life Quest isn't intended to replace established treatments or medications. It could be used to complement these approaches which may help you to feel better sooner but this is something that should be discussed with your healer.

Those who triumph come to accept that every moment has its place on the journey. The path is never straight so embrace the twists and turns and use your Super Strengths to build on what is right and ask for help from your Trusted Allies.

When all is said and done your fate rests within the efforts put forward. So be sure to play as though you're Best Life depended on it. After all it just might.
